Salesforce and Nvidia Challenge AI Labs With Koa

Salesforce unveiled Koa, its first reasoning model, at Dreamforce, built on Nvidia's open-weight Nemotron model. Trained on synthetic data rather than real customer information, Koa is designed to handle sales, marketing, and customer support tasks more efficiently and cheaply than frontier models like Claude or ChatGPT. Koa represents a growing divide between enterprise AI needs and what proprietary labs offer. It provides data security, token efficiency, and task-specific performance within Salesforce's Agentforce platform. Despite this, Salesforce also announced Claudeforce, a new Anthropic partnership, signaling it is not fully abandoning frontier model providers.
