Rune Raises $40M for Solar-Powered AI Data Centers

Rune, incorporated as Liitto Technology Inc., has closed a $40 million funding round led by Spark Capital and launched its first product, RELIC (Renewable Energy Linked Intelligent Compute). The modular system installs directly at solar farms, cutting auxiliary infrastructure costs by 85% by eliminating long-haul power transmission lines and DC-to-AC conversion equipment. Each RELIC module holds up to 1,024 graphics cards and can be operational within weeks, versus years for traditional data centers. Rune has already deployed the system at a 200-megawatt Texas solar facility and plans to expand to wind farms.
