Robotics AI Startup Generalist Raises $200M
Generalist AI Inc., which develops AI software for robots, has reportedly raised $200 million in a new funding round led by 8VC, joined by existing investors. The raise follows a $400 million round in June that included Nvidia and Bezos Expeditions. The funding comes shortly after Generalist launched Gen-1.5, an AI model for robotic arms that lets users teach robots new tasks by hand demonstration rather than manual coding. The model achieved an 83% task completion rate with a few examples and can autonomously refine its own workflows.
