Restate Raises $20M for AI Agent Infrastructure

Berlin-based startup Restate has closed a $20 million Series A led by Singular, with participation from Redpoint Ventures and Capital One Ventures. Founded in 2022 by Stephan Ewen, a co-creator of Apache Flink, Restate builds durable workflow infrastructure that ensures multistep processes recover automatically from failures. The AI agent boom has accelerated demand, with the company recently closing multiple six- and seven-figure contracts. Customers include Replit and Fortune 500 financial firms. Restate competes with Temporal, which recently raised at a $12.55 billion valuation. The new funding will support hiring, engineering expansion, and a larger Bay Area office.
