Replit CEO Claims Split from Anthropic at Disrupt

Replit CEO Amjad Masad said at TechCrunch Disrupt that the AI coding platform is no longer working with Anthropic, citing cost, performance, and partnership reasons. He said OpenAI's models perform better on its internal benchmarks for building applications. However, insiders familiar with the partnership disputed Masad's claim, saying it remains in place. Recent blog posts and social media activity show Replit using Anthropic's Claude models as recently as late September. Replit has not responded to requests for clarification. Masad also noted enterprise now accounts for 15% of revenue, up from 2% last year.
