Red Hat Launches Open-Source AI Governance Automation Project
Red Hat has announced asago, an open-source project designed to automate AI governance by converting policies into operational controls for deployed AI systems. The initiative connects compliance teams, data scientists and infrastructure administrators through a standardized four-stage workflow.
Asago maps governance requirements to frameworks like NIST's AI Risk Management Framework and the EU AI Act, runs safety tests, recommends guardrails and generates deployment configurations for Kubernetes and hybrid cloud environments. Partners include IBM Research, Microsoft, Nvidia, MIT Lincoln Laboratory and others. The software will be released under Apache License 2.0.
