Qualcomm Unveils Two AI-Focused Flagship Chips
Qualcomm announced two new flagship processors, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, at its annual Snapdragon Summit. The chips feature new sensing hubs capable of running AI models with up to 200 million parameters, enabling local voice agents, speaker differentiation, and personalized task automation. The high-end Extreme version can run a 30-billion-parameter model locally, surpassing Apple's 20-billion-parameter model released in June.
Both chips offer enhanced camera capabilities with pixel-level control, while the Extreme version supports 8K 60fps video and a new pro-level codec. Motorola announced its Signature 27 smartphone powered by the top-tier chip, with availability expected later this year.
