Pentagon Signs AI Deals With Nvidia, Microsoft, AWS
The U.S. Defense Department has signed agreements with Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Reflection AI to deploy their AI technology on classified military networks. The deals aim to make the U.S. military an AI-first fighting force, with systems deployed on high-security IL6 and IL7 environments.
The agreements follow the Pentagon's ongoing legal dispute with Anthropic over unrestricted use of its AI tools, prompting the DOD to diversify its AI vendors. Over 1.3 million DOD personnel already use GenAI.mil, the department's secure generative AI platform, primarily for non-classified tasks.
