OpenRouter Raises $113M to Simplify AI Model Routing
OpenRouter has secured $113 million in Series B funding led by Alphabet's CapitalG, with participation from Nvidia, ServiceNow, Snowflake, Databricks, MongoDB, Andreessen Horowitz and Menlo Ventures. The startup provides a unified interface for routing AI inference across hundreds of models and providers, handling billing, governance and intelligent failover.
The funding comes as enterprise AI costs surge, with 67% of businesses processing nearly 1 billion tokens monthly. OpenRouter's platform has grown fivefold in six months, now processing 25 trillion tokens weekly across 8 million users. The company plans to expand its routing, governance and optimization capabilities.
