OpenAI Launches GPT-Live Real-Time Voice Models

OpenAI has introduced GPT-Live, a new family of AI models optimized for spoken instructions, powering ChatGPT's voice mode. The lineup includes GPT-Live-1 for paid plans and GPT-Live-1-mini for free users, rolling out across iOS, Android, and web with multilingual support. Unlike its predecessor, GPT-Live uses a full-duplex architecture enabling real-time responses without waiting for users to finish speaking. Separately, OpenAI's advanced GPT-5.6 model series is set for broad release Thursday following U.S. government approval, while its new professional services arm, the OpenAI Deployment Company, announced an acquisition of Palantir-focused firm Northslope Inc.
