OpenAI Launches Advanced Voice Features For Developers

OpenAI has expanded its API with new voice intelligence tools for developers. The update includes GPT Realtime 2, a voice model powered by GPT-5 class reasoning for handling complex requests, and GPT Realtime Translate, offering real-time translation across 70 input languages and 13 output languages. The company also introduced GPT-Realtime-Whisper, a live speech-to-text transcription tool. OpenAI says the combined updates push voice interfaces beyond simple call-and-response toward systems capable of listening, reasoning, translating, and taking action during live conversations.
