OpenAI has integrated its Codex coding tool into the ChatGPT mobile app, letting users monitor and manage development workflows from their phones. The preview update is available to all plans on iOS and Android, enabling users to review outputs, approve commands, change models, and manage threads remotely. The move follows recent expansions including background desktop operation and a Chrome extension for live browser sessions. Anthropic launched a similar remote monitoring feature for Claude Code in February, reflecting fierce competition between the two companies over dominance in agentic coding tools.
