OpenAI AI Model Produces 722 Math Discoveries
OpenAI has published 722 math papers generated by an unreleased AI model, spanning roughly 20 mathematical subfields. Notable results include a proof of the quasi-Riemann hypothesis, over 80 theoretical computer science papers clarifying limits on matrix multiplication speed, a new integer multiplication algorithm, and more than a dozen proofs related to partial differential equations, including a version of De Giorgi's conjecture and clarifications on the Navier-Stokes equations. Many papers include Lean code files for computer-assisted verification. OpenAI plans to release more Lean proofs and fund research events to review the findings.
