OpenAI Adds Reusable Cloud Environments to Codex

OpenAI announced several updates to its Codex software engineering agent at DevDay. Key additions include reusable cloud development environments accessible from any device, allowing teams to share workspaces with approved settings. The Codex CLI now supports voice input and a new agents view for tracking multiple tasks. A new code review experience integrates with ChatGPT desktop for GitHub and GitLab workflows. Codex Security Cloud lets developers scan repositories and prepare fixes automatically. API updates include a new Decisions API using a model called Luna, and an updated Agents API supporting Amazon Bedrock and computer use.
