Okta, Google Cloud Unite to Secure AI Agents

Okta has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to bring identity governance to AI agents and strengthen browser security. The deal integrates Okta's identity layer with Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and Chrome Enterprise, addressing a gap where only 34% of organizations apply the same security controls to AI agents as to human workers. Key features include Token Vault for secure OAuth token management, human-in-the-loop approval checkpoints, and centralized agent visibility. On the browser side, the partnership adds real-time threat response and Device Bound Session Credentials, an open standard that cryptographically ties sessions to single devices, blocking the session hijacking attacks that rose 127% year-over-year.
