Nvidia's Huang Claims $200B New CPU Market
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled a major new growth strategy centered on the company's Vera CPU, purpose-built for agentic AI. Speaking on an earnings call following a record $81.6 billion revenue quarter, Huang claimed Vera opens a brand new $200 billion market Nvidia has never addressed before, with every major hyperscaler already partnering to deploy it.
Huang argues that while GPUs handle AI model thinking, agents primarily run on CPUs to execute tasks. Unlike traditional cloud CPUs built around multi-core processing, Vera is optimized for token processing speed. Nvidia has reportedly already sold $20 billion in standalone Vera CPUs this year, as Huang predicts billions of AI agents will eventually require their own CPU-driven computing infrastructure.
