Nvidia opens AI factory rack designs at OCP Summit
Nvidia announced new open-source contributions and partnerships at the Open Compute Project Global Summit in San Jose. The company contributed Vera Rubin rack and compute tray designs to OCP via its MGX architecture, giving system builders common blueprints for AI factory rack layouts, networking, power and cooling. MGX 1.2 adds liquid cooling modularity and standardized power components. Nvidia also partnered with Meta, Google and Cisco: Meta will adopt Nvidia's Spectrum-6 Ethernet switch; Google's Falcon Transport will be supported in Spectrum-X networking; and Nvidia and Cisco are jointly defining a new Ultra-dense Small Form Factor Pluggable optical module supporting 400Gbps-per-lane networking.
