Nvidia unveiled its BioNeMo Agent Toolkit at the Bio International Convention, positioning agentic AI as the next major platform shift in life sciences. VP Kimberly Powell argued that AI agents will transform biotech the way they transformed software, turning large language models into specialized AI scientists capable of running end-to-end biology and chemistry workflows. The toolkit packages proven life-science models for protein folding, molecular docking, and genomics into agent-callable tools optimized for cost and performance. Designed to work with any major LLM provider, including OpenAI and Anthropic, BioNeMo aims to compress drug discovery timelines from months to hours while reducing computational expense.
