Nvidia in early talks to acquire Reflection AI
Nvidia is in early talks to acquire, acquihire, or increase its investment in open-weight model developer Reflection AI, according to the Financial Times. A deal could come within weeks, though talks may still collapse. Options include an outright purchase, a larger stake alongside more chip supply, or an acquihire that would let Nvidia hire staff and license technology while avoiding regulatory review. Nvidia already leads Reflection's funding, having invested $800 million total. Reflection, valued at $25 billion pre-money, recently launched its first model, Beam, a 501-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts system targeting coding and agentic tasks.
