Nvidia, Google Launch Flexible Data Center Alliance
Nvidia, Google, and software startup Emerald AI have formed the AI Energy Management Alliance (AEMA), a consortium promoting flexible data centers that reduce power consumption during grid strain. The group launched Wednesday with 21 total members, including Anthropic and Analog Devices.
Flexible data centers can shift AI training schedules, draw from on-site batteries, or even feed stored power back to the grid. AEMA's initial focus will be developing industry best practices, standardizing power optimization metrics, and encouraging data sharing among operators.
