Nvidia Eyes Perplexity AI Stake at $30B

Nvidia is reportedly in talks to make another investment in AI search startup Perplexity AI at a valuation exceeding $30 billion, up more than 50% from its $20 billion valuation a year ago. The deal size remains undisclosed and no agreement is guaranteed. Perplexity has tripled its annualized revenue run rate to $750 million in just eight months, driven largely by its Perplexity Computer cloud agent. Nvidia, already a key backer, is motivated to keep the AI search firm reliant on its chips rather than rivals like AMD or Cerebras.
