Nvidia, Corning Partner to Expand Optical Network Supply
Nvidia and Corning have announced a partnership to boost U.S. optical network component production. Corning will build three new factories in North Carolina and Texas, increasing its optical hardware capacity tenfold and creating 3,000 jobs. Nvidia has also received warrants to purchase up to 18 million Corning shares, valued at over $3.2 billion.
The deal focuses on fiber optic cables and components critical to AI data centers. Corning's optical communications business grew 36% last quarter, and its shares jumped over 12% on the news. The companies did not specify exact products for the new facilities.
