Nutanix Adds AI Gateway to Tame Spiraling Token Costs
Nutanix has expanded its agentic AI infrastructure platform with two key additions: Service Provider Central, enabling multi-tenant GPU clouds and AI service catalogs, and an AI gateway inside Nutanix Enterprise AI that governs model access and controls costs. Both run on Nutanix Kubernetes Platform Metal, a dual-native platform supporting VMs and bare metal Kubernetes from a single control plane.
The moves address a growing enterprise concern: agentic workflows can trigger hundreds of downstream agent calls, each consuming tokens at scale. Nutanix executives predict this will spawn a new discipline called AI FinOps, helping enterprises decide whether to pay per token via APIs, use service provider infrastructure, or run models on-premises using only electricity costs.
