NotebookLM Gets Gemini 3.5 and New Coding Tools
Google has upgraded NotebookLM with Gemini 3.5, its newest AI model family, which outperforms Claude Opus 4.7 on several benchmarks and generates output four times faster than competing models. The update improved performance on 78.2% of online research tasks compared to the previous version. New coding features, powered by Google's Antigravity code editor, give each NotebookLM workspace a virtual machine to write and run code, backed by over 100 pre-packaged software skills. The update also adds support for Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, and JSON file formats. Features are available to Google AI Ultra subscribers and select Workspace users.
