NetApp ONTAP runs natively inside Oracle Cloud

NetApp and Oracle have co-engineered a fully managed storage service that runs NetApp's ONTAP data management software natively inside Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Unlike a bolted-on third-party add-on, the service integrates directly into OCI's control plane, data plane, billing, provisioning, console and API. Enterprises running ONTAP on-premises can migrate workloads to OCI without application redesign. The two companies also plan to bring Oracle's AI capabilities into ONTAP, allowing customers to run AI workloads directly where their data resides rather than moving data to a separate environment.
