NetApp lets AI agents run storage within human-set limits
NetApp is deploying AI agents to manage storage infrastructure autonomously, but within policy boundaries set by humans. Senior VP Sandeep Singh described a demo where agents resolved a nighttime performance anomaly without waking engineers, while maintaining a full audit trail. The company uses a unified control plane via NetApp Console spanning on-premises and cloud environments. Tigon Advisory CEO Helen Yu warned that inconsistent data access drives shadow IT and shadow AI, and urged enterprises to extend RACI accountability frameworks to machines, defining who owns data, who can access it, and who can override exceptions.
