NetApp builds behavior-based guardrails for AI agents
Enterprises deploying AI agents face a growing risk not from attackers but from autonomous software acting unexpectedly at machine speed. NetApp is responding by shifting access controls from simple permissions to behavior-based policies within its AI Data Engine, which flags unusual data access patterns. The platform also integrates ransomware detection signals with Commvault, Microsoft Sentinel, and Cisco Splunk for faster incident response. Because human-in-the-loop review cannot match agent speed, automation must carry more of the load. NetApp is offering AI Data Engine free for six months to existing customers.
