Modulate's AI Tool Detects Synthetic Music Tracks

Modulate Inc. has launched AI Music Detection, an API that analyzes audio to determine whether vocals or instrumentals are AI-generated. The tool scores clips and delivers verdicts on full files, giving streaming services, distributors and rights holders a way to identify synthetic tracks without relying on uploader disclosure. The system uses three models working in tandem and achieved 95% precision across 76 genres in internal testing, including against Suno's 5.5 model. The launch comes as AI music investment surges, with Suno recently raising $400 million at a $5.4 billion valuation. Modulate says major labels and distribution platforms have already expressed interest.
