Mistral OCR 4 Targets Enterprises With Sovereign AI

Mistral AI has released OCR 4, its fourth-generation document intelligence model in 15 months. The model goes beyond text extraction to deliver structured document representations with bounding boxes, block-type classification, and per-word confidence scores across 170 languages. The model supports PDF, DOC, PPT, and OpenDocument formats and can run as a single container on private infrastructure. Mistral is targeting regulated industries that cannot send sensitive documents through U.S.-based cloud services, making its European AI sovereignty pitch increasingly commercially relevant.
