Mirendil Hits $1B Valuation With $200M Raise
Mirendil Inc., an AI startup focused on scientific research, has raised $200 million in a seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz, reaching a $1 billion valuation. Kleiner Perkins and Nvidia also participated. The company is led by SAM algorithm co-inventor Behnam Neyshabur and former Anthropic researcher Harsh Mehta.
Mirendil aims to build self-improving AI that can autonomously upgrade itself to accelerate machine learning research. The technology will target scientists in chemistry, medicine and robotics, using reinforcement learning sandboxes and novel transformer architectures to automate tasks like data preparation and debugging.
