Midjourney Pivots From AI Art to Body Scanners
Midjourney CEO David Holz has unveiled the company's first hardware product, a full-body ultrasound scanner called The Midjourney Scanner. The device uses a ring of sensors to capture vertical slices of the body, analyzing muscle, fat, bone, and organ composition.
Holz described the scanner as targeting MRI-comparable image quality and suggested users could scan daily or annually. The company also plans to open a San Francisco spa to house the technology, marking a dramatic shift from its AI image generation roots.
