Midjourney Buys Astrology App Co-Star

AI image generator Midjourney has acquired social astrology app Co-Star, according to Bloomberg. Deal terms were not disclosed. Co-Star has approximately 4.3 million monthly active users and uses AI and humans to generate horoscopes and compatibility assessments. The acquisition adds to Midjourney's expanding and eclectic portfolio, which already includes a medical arm and spa concept. Co-Star's 24-person team joins Midjourney, and their consumer app experience could help the company finally launch a standalone app beyond its Discord-based platform.
