Microsoft Upgrades Copilot Studio With AI Agent Controls
Microsoft's April 2026 Copilot Studio updates transform the platform into a centralized AI agent control center, introducing improved governance, security posture visibility, and workflow automation capabilities. New features include the generally available Analytics Viewer role, which lets stakeholders monitor agent performance without editing access, and Agent 365, a control plane for governing AI agents across Microsoft and partner ecosystems.
Workflow capabilities now support AI-powered reasoning, MCP server tool integrations, and embedded agent nodes for dynamic decision-making. Additional updates enable teams to integrate business apps directly into agents, reducing tool-switching and accelerating execution. New evaluation tools allow automated testing and multi-turn interaction simulations.
