The disclaimer, last updated October 24, 2025, has drawn mockery on social media given Microsoft's aggressive push to sell Copilot to corporate customers. A Microsoft spokesperson called the wording "legacy language" that no longer reflects how Copilot is used and said it will be updated soon. Microsoft is not alone — OpenAI and xAI also include similar disclaimers cautioning users against treating AI outputs as factual truth.
