Meta Develops Camera-Free Smart Glasses Amid Privacy Outcry
Meta is reportedly developing a new camera-free smart glasses model called Luna, following backlash over its existing camera-equipped glasses being labeled "pervert glasses." The device features six built-in microphones and a button to activate Meta's AI chatbot, and could be unveiled at Meta Connect next week.
Despite Meta's smart glasses outperforming competitors, concerns over privacy, cost, and usability persist. The company's Reality Labs division, responsible for the glasses, continues to lose significant money, as revealed in its April earnings report.
