Memory Chips, Not Nvidia, Now Lead AI Sales
While Nvidia dominates AI headlines with 1,800% gains since 2022, memory chip makers have quietly become the real powerhouses of the AI boom. High-bandwidth memory producers Micron, SK Hynix, and Samsung now form a near-triopoly with extraordinary pricing power, outpacing GPU makers in recent market gains. According to Deloitte, high-value AI chips represent less than 0.2% of unit volume but nearly half of total revenue. As hyperscalers ramp spending through 2027 and more companies enter the GPU space, memory chips face less competition and remain difficult to replicate, giving the trio a durable and growing advantage in the AI infrastructure buildout.
