MCP's Biggest Update Makes AI Agents Enterprise-Ready

The Model Context Protocol has received its largest update since Anthropic launched it, now under the stewardship of the Linux Foundation's Agentic AI Foundation. The overhaul finalizes a fully stateless architecture, strengthens authentication security, and introduces a formal 12-month deprecation policy. Two major capabilities — interactive server-rendered interfaces and long-running asynchronous tasks — have been graduated to official protocol extensions. The changes are designed to make agentic AI ready for large-scale enterprise production deployments, addressing longstanding infrastructure challenges like sticky routing and shared state management.
