Kier Group Uses Copilot to Boost Safety and Productivity
UK construction firm Kier Group has rolled out Microsoft Copilot to around 11,000 employees, using creative peer-learning sessions called prompt-a-thons to overcome executive hesitancy and drive adoption. Chief Operating Officer Louisa Finlay championed the initiative, which now sees 40 percent of staff using Microsoft 365 Copilot daily for tasks ranging from email prioritization to safety data analysis.
Kier is developing AI agents to collect safety data, analyze job site imagery and drone footage, and predict equipment maintenance needs. The company emphasizes a Human at the Helm approach, ensuring people remain in control. One site manager with dyslexia described Copilot as game changing, underscoring the technology's broader human impact.
