Jury Dismisses Musk's Lawsuit Against OpenAI
A federal jury ruled against Elon Musk in his lawsuit against OpenAI, finding the complaint was filed after the statute of limitations had expired. The judge immediately accepted the advisory decision after less than two hours of deliberation.
Musk's 2024 lawsuit alleged OpenAI broke promises to remain a nonprofit and open-source its AI models, stemming from his $38 million founding donation. He sought up to $180 billion in damages and removal of CEO Sam Altman. Musk called the verdict a calendar technicality and vowed to appeal.
