Infor Builds Industry-Specific AI to Curb Hallucinations

Infor is developing AI agents tailored to industries including industrial manufacturing, aerospace and defense, automotive, and food and beverage, building them around existing industry applications. Senior vice presidents Suresh Jayaraman and Rick Rider say generic agents produce inconsistent, hallucination-prone answers, while industry-specific agents use micro-vertical configuration to handle precise workflows. Examples include dairy receiving that tracks fat content versus red meat receiving that requires country-of-origin data. Agents can create orders and check demand autonomously, but moving one customer's order to another still requires human approval. Infor is also hiring domain experts to complement its technical staff.
