Google Vids Lets You Create Your AI Twin
Google has updated its Vids platform to let users create personalized AI avatars based on a selfie and voice recording. The update also integrates Gemini Omni, enabling video creation from text prompts and images, plus editing features like background swapping and lighting fixes.
The changes push Google Vids beyond its workplace presentation roots into direct competition with AI video tools like HeyGen and Synthesia. Avatars are watermarked with SynthID, tied to users' Google accounts, and restricted to those 18 and older in select regions.
