Google Unveils Googlebooks, AI Widgets, and More

Google held its Android Show: I/O Edition event, announcing a wave of upcoming features and hardware. Highlights include Googlebooks, a new laptop line built around Gemini AI, launching this fall in partnership with Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. Other updates include vibe-coded custom widgets, 3D emoji, and Gemini rolling out on Android Auto. Additional features include Gemini in Chrome for Android, agentic AI that works across apps, a new Gboard dictation tool called Rambler, and a Screen Reactions creator feature. Google also partnered with Meta to bring enhanced Instagram camera capabilities exclusively to Android devices.
