Google Transforms Search With AI Agents, Generative UI
Google announced a major AI overhaul of its search experience at Google I/O, introducing an expanded search box, conversational follow-ups, and background Search Agents that continuously scour the web and deliver personalized reports. Users hunting for apartments, for example, can set an agent to monitor listings matching their criteria around the clock.
Google is also introducing generative UI, using its Antigravity tool and Gemini 3.5 Flash model to build interactive mini apps, visualizations, and custom components directly within search results. Users can even request personalized apps, such as fitness trackers with live maps and weather data. The features roll out this summer for Pro and Ultra subscribers.
