Google launches Gemini 4 Carbon with cybersecurity focus
Google debuted Gemini 4 Carbon, a flagship large language model focused on complex programming and cybersecurity tasks, just two weeks after releasing Gemini 4 Argon. Carbon scored a record on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index and outperformed GPT-6 Astra and Claude Opus 5.5 across multiple benchmarks. It generates secure code more than twice as effectively as its predecessor and blocked all simulated prompt injections in testing. Internal teams reported a nearly 80% drop in misalignment alerts. Google will initially release Carbon through its Fairwind Program before a broader rollout.
