Google launches cheaper Gemini models and restricted bug-hunter

Google launched three new Gemini Flash models and moved its CodeMender code-security agent into preview. The flagship Gemini 3.6 Flash uses 17% fewer output tokens than its predecessor, costs less, and shows benchmark gains in coding, knowledge work, and computer use. Early adopters include Harvey AI and Hebbia. Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite targets high-throughput, low-cost workloads at 30 cents per million input tokens. The third model, Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber, is restricted to governments and trusted partners due to its ability to find, validate, and exploit real software vulnerabilities in production systems within hours.
