Google Launches $99 Gemini-Powered Smart Speaker

Google has unveiled the Google Home Speaker, its first standalone smart speaker since 2020, priced at $99.99. Powered by Gemini AI, it supports natural language commands, multistep requests, mid-sentence corrections, and two-way conversations on a wide range of topics. While core Gemini features are free, advanced capabilities like Gemini Live conversations and Nest camera summaries require a Google Home Premium subscription at $10 per month. Google will offer a free six-month trial of premium features. The speaker is available for preorder and ships later this month.
