Google Fixed 1,072 Chrome Bugs Using AI

Google patched 1,072 security bugs across two Chrome versions released in June, surpassing the 1,036 fixes made across the previous 23 versions over two years. The company credits AI tools, including its Gemini model, for the exponential increase in vulnerability discovery and patching. Microsoft reported a similar trend, citing AI for a record 570 security fixes in its latest Patch Tuesday update. Apple, however, shows no comparable surge, having patched 482 bugs so far in 2026 at a pace consistent with prior years.
