Google DeepMind Invests $75M in A24 Films

Google DeepMind has announced a $75 million investment in indie studio A24, forming what it calls a first-of-its-kind partnership to develop AI tools for filmmaking. The deal will have the two companies collaborate on AI features, with A24 artists providing feedback and guidance to shape the technology. The move comes amid ongoing controversy over AI use in Hollywood, though A24 is not alone in exploring the technology. Netflix recently acquired Ben Affleck's AI-focused company InterPositive, and Amazon's MGM Studios launched its own AI unit for film and TV production last year.
