Google Cloud Launches Autonomous Gemini Enterprise Agent

Google Cloud has introduced Gemini agent, a unified AI assistant designed to work autonomously across web, mobile, desktop, and third-party apps including Slack, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace. Users set objectives rather than instructions, and the agent handles knowledge work, code generation, and media creation. It maintains persistent memory and context across channels and can spawn sub-agents with dedicated identities and email addresses. The system supports multiple models, including Gemini Flash, Argon, and Anthropic Claude, with smart routing to control costs. Users can also set hard spending caps via the Cloud Billing Console.
