Gemini 3.8 Live Avatar Brings AI Visual Presence

Google has launched Gemini 3.8 Live with Live Avatar, adding near real-time video generation to its live dialogue model. The feature combines precise lip-syncing, natural expressions, and fluid turn-taking to create interactive virtual agents for enterprise use cases like customer service and guided walkthroughs. Live Avatar supports 97 languages with seamless lip-sync adaptation, asynchronous tool calling for uninterrupted conversations, and customizable avatars built from reference images. All AI-generated audio and video is watermarked with SynthID for transparency. The feature is now available in Gemini Enterprise.
